I’ve been a sports fan all my life. My dad said that when I was three years old, I would sit on his lap while we read the sports page together. In other words, I never remember not loving sports. Sports is a great analogy to life. There is a playing field, teamwork, individual responsibility, and a book of rules. Players experience winning and losing, and, along the way, develop character ——-or they don’t. In my career as a sportscaster/journalist, I’ve seen hundreds of good people in sports, and I’ve heard thousands of great stories. The negative, sensational sports reports are getting far too much attention. Our goal is to concentrate on the positive, praise worthy actions of some real sports heroes. We want to tell you the good news about men and women who try to show integrity in their lives on the field and off.
